About Us
We don’t believe in lack.
We believe there is enough for everyone and that businesses, individuals and communities can work together across the web, across a continent or across our own backyards to grow into lucrative enterprises.
We don’t believe in the corporate mentality of yesterday.
We believe in a sustainable, flexible business model where creativity and thinking outside the box is rewarded; where the customer is empowered with choices and has a strong voice. We believe in being advocates and building relationships.
Who are we?
We are a collective network of women and men loosely tied together by our creativity, the web and the strong belief that it’s time for a change. We are committed to the environment, to family and to our communities. We are dedicated to creating a place where you can get up to date information and product selections that are not only ‘green’ and ‘eco’ but fun and luxurious and unique.
Health and wellness is our mantra with a whopping does of hilarity thrown in. After all, what kind of life are we living if we can’t crack ourselves up on occasion? We don’t make any guarantees that we won’t swear or cuss or get political but we’ll do our best to try to keep it under control.
Our ultimate goal is to bring you information on exiting new eco products for your home, your body and your soul and to challenge you to think about the purchases you make and the impact they have on the planet.
So, enough about us…we extend a warm welcome to YOU and look forward to hearing your ideas, recommendations and insights. This blog is our seed of sustainability and it’s been planted on the world wide web. Come and grow it with us.
Our Writers are the fabulous sorts of people that have a unique perspective and are experts in their fields. We are happy to be associated with each and every one of them and hope you find (as we do) that the information compiled here, in these pages, is alive, vibrant and pertinent to each and every one of us in some way.
ThatEcoGirl is me (Sonya) and I own and operate BestEcoStuff.com. I have my hands in a lot of pots but this one is my favorite.
My goal with this blog and the BestEcoStuff site is to educated and really show individuals that being green isn’t all that difficult and that it is, in fact, fabulously fun, sexy AND oh so very healthy for you and for the planet.
We constantly strive, here at BestEcoStuff, to go that extra mile to ferret out new green information and bring you new resources and hopefully, a few laughs. But mostly, we want to hear what YOU have to say. So…give us a shout out, leave a comment, or email us. We will post your opinions and share your view points with our avid readers!
Stephanie Rogers is a freelance writer focusing on environmental issues, and currently writes for EarthFirst, Eco Chick, Weburbanist and Huffington Post Green.
She lives in Asheville, North Carolina with her husband and two cats, spending most of her free time painting, gardening, learning to play the cello and having fun with the latest eco-friendly products.
Stephanie first became interested in environmentalism in high school and has been ‘greening’ her life incrementally ever since, believing that we can all take small, easy steps toward eco-fabulousness without sacrificing comfort and style.
Ted Durkee is a twenty-two year old environmentalist and entrepreneur from Wisconsin working to find new ways to drive the green movement.
Here’s how Ted puts it…My overarching philosophy is that we’re all out here to be comfortable and enjoy life, which I definitely aspire to do, but in the end what I think counts most is making a positive impact either for the planet or for other people. (We, here at BestEcoStuff, absolutely agree!)
Ted’s most recent project is designing a new way for people to have a direct effect on renewable energy and style their laptops at the same time! Learn more about it at poweredgreen.com.
Lynn Colwell and Cory Colwell-Lipson are dedicated to bringing a fresh new “green” perspective on holidays and family traditions.
